Issue 31 Safety Awards


Safety is of course an indispensable aspect of our unique company culture and core values. We care deeply about our people and want them to be safe at work and at home. In April last year, Loscam launched our first global-scale Safety Campaign, targeting the entire Group, hosting a series of safety activities running from April through to December across numerous regions.

The over-arching campaign objective was to encourage a consistent, “built-in” safety mindset in our people, which in turn will enhance workplace health and safety excellence across the Group.


Loscam Safety Campaign’s “top 5” initiatives:
  1. Roll out of two waves of competitions: "60Sec Safety Video" and "Safety Mascot and Slogan Design Competition". The competitions were successfully completed last August, and awarded works were selected after an intense rivalry.

  2. Set-up of Safety Corner Notice Boards in every Loscam office & depot to promote safety culture and ensure all staff are fully informed about the latest safety management matters.

  3. Implementation of an EVP / Management Depot Tour, conducting safety inspections, depot management reviews, putting in place high levels of safety management initiatives – including well placed signs highlighting the use of PPE, depot and evacuation layout plans, listing precautions (do’s and don’ts), and conducting regular inductions. Meetings with operation workers to reaffirm the Group’s clear message that safety is everyone’s responsibility.

  4. Invitation to officers from the Occupational Safety and Health Training Centre to present talks on the latest in Occupational Health.

  5. Each region hosting their own specific “Safety Week” events to promote safety culture, running educational activities like safety drills, holding staff liaison sessions to discuss high rated safety concerns, risks and accidents, plus leading-edge first aid training.
